3D Tetris: Gaelscoil Mhícil Chíosog
Clare Museum, Ennis, Co Clare

3D Tetris is an installation of children's artwork by pupils of Gaelscoil Mhícil Chíosog.
The sculpture is comprised of 30 individual cuboids containing fragmented images of the children, the work can be re arranged into a variety of compositions similar to a game of building blocks. 3D Tetris can be viewed from the 4th – 29th September.
This art project came about due to a new Encountering the Arts Ireland and Clare Education Initiative called Artist /Teacher Partnerships in which artist David O Rourke and teacher Ciara Ni Chuílinn participated. David is a graduate of NCAD, Dublin and has exhibited nationally and internationally. He has been involved in arts and education for the last ten years. An exhibition of his work "Ireland Character and Culture" is concurrently on show in Cafe on the Green, Lifford.

Lean On Pete

Lean On Pete is a 2017 film. 127 minutes long. Cert 15A. 15 year-old Charley (Charlie Plummer) and his father Ray arrive in Portland, Oregon, where Charley takes a part-time summer job with small-time horse-trainer Del (Steve Buscemi). Charley is a natural with the animals but develops a particularly powerful bond with Lean on Pete, a racehorse on its last legs. On learning that his new friend is destined for the slaughterhouse, Charley flees with the horse to embark on a cross-country journey, which leads him to search for the loving aunt he hasn’t seen in years. Visual Art Exhibition by artist Rita Linney
Cultúrlann Sweeney, Kilkee

Born in Yorkshire, Rita Linney moved to County Clare in 2016 to follow her ambition to work as a full time artist. She attended Art College in Doncaster and Canterbury to study fine art and over the years has worked with various artists including prominent Yorkshire artist David J Curtis ROI, RSMA in the north east of Britain. Rita has exhibited with various prestigious venues in England including the Royal Society of Marine Artists. The exhibition runs from the 7th – 28th September at Cultúrlann Sweeney and features new paintings of both local land and seascapes. All art works are for sale, it’s a free event and all are welcome to attend. Rita’s work can also be viewed on

Culture Night in County Clare

September 21st sees the annual Culture Night throughout Ireland and once again County Clare is to the forefront celebrating cultural activity at local level with free arts, music, theatre, film and literary events happening across the county. This year, 16 towns and villages take part with 43 events lined up, starting from 4pm and running 'til late. Culture Night is brought to you by the Department of Culture, Heritage & the Gaeltacht in partnership with the Arts Office of Clare County Council.
