Missing Persons Advertisements

Boston Pilot - From October 1831 through October 1921, the Boston Pilot newspaper printed a “Missing Friends” column with advertisements from people looking for “lost” friends and relatives who had emigrated from Ireland to the United States. This collection of 40,622 records is available as a searchable online database, which contains a text record for each ad that appeared in the Pilot. This link will bring up all ‘Clare’ instances. Click on the name of the person(s) to view a more detailed description based on the contents of the advertisement placed to find them. Click on any of the five column headings to sort the search results in ascending or descending alphabetical order.
