Belleville Ask A Librarian
Ask a Librarian is a free online information service provided by Belleville Public Library in Belleville, Ontario, Canada.
The library will respond to e-mail questions that can be answered with Short and Factual answers only. The library will try to answer you within two days.

"We are delighted to try and answer any question from anywhere. Since we started this venture earlier this year [2005] we have had questions from as far away as Lebanon and Pakistan, and as close as next door."

National Library of Ireland - Ask a Librarian
The Library operates a reference enquiry service and the Librarian on duty is happy to answer a wide range of queries. Enquiries will be dealt with as soon as possible, and will normally be processed within one week. This service does not include the compilation of extensive bibliographies, answering quizzes, or family history research.

Library of Congress (USA) - Ask a Librarian
"Correspondents are encouraged to use local and online resources. For those seeking further assistance from the Library of Congress, the staff will respond to their reference and information needs to the extent possible. Because the Library participates in a global network of librarians working electronically to answer questions, your online reference question may be submitted to this global network for reply."

Libraries.fi (Finland) - Ask A Librarian
"... answers contain references to literature and Internet-pages or a guidance to other sources, where the information needed could be obtained. The questions can be answered by any of the participating libraries. You have to choose your municipality in Finland or 'Outside of Finland'. Use of the service is free of charge. The service is meant for non-commercial use. Your question will be answered within three working days. The questions are answered by using library collections, databases and the Internet. If you have a very broad question or you are researching a complex subject you are advised to visit your nearest library in person to consult with the librarians. The reply is a summary of the best sources identified by library professionals. Because of the vast amount of resources available, the answer is not always exhaustive."
