Too male oriented; we want more of the ancient women featured here!
Susan Neumeyin, U.S.A.
Curators
note: every effort has been made to accurately interpret the past
in the Riches of Clare exhibition using available archaeological finds from
this county. It is difficult attribute specific artefacts to women or men
before recorded history without resorting to many modern gender stereotypes
that may not have applied in ancient societies. It is therefore difficult
to measure the extent to which the exhibition is male or female oriented.

Just a note to say that our classes thoroughly enjoyed and really benefitted
from their visit to the County Museum. It will be an annual trip. The guides

to listen, which is not something common to a lot of guides ... it is wonderful
to have such a facility on our doorstep.
