Included are archaeological objects claimed for the state under the National Monuments (Amendment) Act, 1994, and housed in the museum under the Cultural Institutions Act (1997), and items presented to the museum by participants in the Preserving the Past for the Future project at Ennistymon Daycare Centre. There is also a large collection of Republican material from the post-1916 Easter Rising period prior to the War of Independence, and items from the Irish Civil War that followed it.
