Barrows -  Monuments of County Clare

Barrows are low earthen mounds which were usually used for burial purposes in prehistoric times. The results from excavations suggest a long tradition for this type of monument, which ranges in date from the Neolithic to the Early Iron Age (4000 BC-AD 30).
