Mon 15 Mar 1858: The Clare Monument to the Illustrious O’Connell.
To James O’Brien, Esq., High Sheriff. We the undersigned Nobility, Clergy, Gentry, and Farmers of Clare, with the Shopkeepers, and Working Classes of Ennis, request you will call a Public Meeting, to be held in the County Court-house, on St. Patrick’s Day next, for the purpose of erecting a National Monument to the great O’Connell:
