The deceased was a member of the ancient families of Tonelegee. His remains were followed to the grave by one of the largest funeral processions which have taken place in that district since his father's. The many Roman Catholic clergy were present on the occa- sion, joined by the Protestant rectors, who all united in paying the last sad tribute of regard. Mr. Shannon leaves a widow and family to mourn their loss. He is deeply regretted by all who knew him.
