Pedigree of McInerney
Family
This pedigree is a 19th century copy of a pedigree of the McInerney (Mac an Oirchinnigh) family of Clan Cuillein, the eastern division of Thomond, that was originally written in 1588. The source of the pedigree is Royal Irish Academy, MS 23. H.22 p. 11 and the scribe is unknown. When viewing this pedigree, please note that the genealogical information pertaining to the McInerney family can be found in the middle colum of the document entitled - "G. Mc an Oirchinnigh Chloinne Cuilein" (genealogy of the McInerney of Clann Cuillen). The second, minor pedigree, is found toward the bottom of the page and is entitled "G. Aile Mc an Oirchinnigh" (ie. genealogical of the progeny of McInerney). This minor pedigree refers to the junior branch of the family that traces it's descent back to Tomais McInerney - the fourth numbered in the main pedigree. Please note that the pedigree finishes in c.1588 with Maghamain and Lochlainn, from the main and minor branches of the family respectively. The pedigree outlines the descent of the main line of the family back to Donnchadha (eleventh on the pedigree) who is referred to as "Donnchadha i an Hoirchinneach agus Clann an Oirchinnigh" (ie. Donough, the erenagh and hence the family of the erenagh - ie. McInerney). |
