History of Drumcharley National School

Drumcharley National School operated in the parish of Tulla from 1886 to 1970. It served the local community from the townlands of Thome, Cragroe, Clondanagh, Glendree, Uggoon and Ayle as well as other families in neighbouring townlands.

The roll book transcribed is the only document in existence left of this period.

This roll book covers the period of 1897-1900 and it contains the names of both boys and girls who attended the school.

The building is a local community centre today and it is situated beside Drumcharley Church.
