The Beginnings of Lifesaving at Spanish Point and the White Strand and the Miltown Malbay Lifesaving and Swimming Club by Jane Hurley

A tragic drowning in Spanish Point in 1934 prompted the local community to establish and equip a Swimming and Lifesaving club in Miltown Malbay to provide a lifesaving service at Spanish Point and the White Strand. Clare County Library is grateful to Jane Hurley for donating this article.
