[*For the purposes of this list, 'North Clare' is broadly defined as comprising the towns and districts of Ennistymon, Lahinch, Liscannor, Miltown Malbay, Inagh, Corofin, Kilfenora, Lisdoonvarna, Doolin and Ballyvaughan.] Included are soldiers who were killed in action, those who died of wounds, and those who survived the war to die later at home or abroad. Some entries relating to the Crimean War (1854-1856) are also included.
