Christmas Expo in Library

After the success of last year's Christmas Expo art exhibition, a group of local artists have once again come together to show their work in Ennis.

The artists, including David O'Rourke, Tommy Kelly, Caitriona Sheedy, Kevin Quinlan, Hazel Gilchrist, Sean Daly, Dave Donnelly, Shane Gilmore, Ken Sheriff, Derek Smyth, Sue O'Brien, Diarmuid and rory Twohig, anna O'Rourke, Sheila Honan, John Hanrahan, Alex Conway, Sinead Slattery, will be displaying their work in the de Valera library gallery.

The exhibition will be launched this Friday at 6.00pm with music by Trevor Hansbury.

David O'Rourke explained, "Last year's exhibition was quite a success and everybody who took part was eager to get involved again. The idea behind the exhibition came about because I wanted to try and get a group of local artists together with contemporary art in mind. And it's fantastic that so many artists shared this idea and wanted to get inivolved again. This year's exhibition will be held in the de Valera gallery space which is a great venue that is very accessible".

"This exhibition is something a little different coming up to the Christmas season. There is a wide variety of styles in this exhibition with artists showing paintings, photographs, sculptures and jewellery. There are some very well known names and also some not so well known who are just waiting to be discovered", he concluded.
