Tai Chi taster class. A Healthy Ireland at Your Library Event.

Join Kevin Copeland, senior Tai Chi instructor, with the Ireland Health Qigong & Tai Chi association for a taster class. Tai Chi is practiced around the world as a health promoting exercise. Its benefits include improved flexibility, strength, endurance & balance, increases relaxation and wellbeing. Free event for people throughout Co Clare aged 18+. Booking is essential. A First Fortnight Mind Reading Zoom Book Club Event
Online Event at 11am

We are reading Matt Haig’s The Midnight Library which is on the Mind Reading recommended reading list produced by the First Fortnight Festival taking place this January. First Fortnight is a charity that challenges mental health prejudice through arts and cultural action. The Midnight Library is a book about the celebration of life’s possibilities. Rock star, Olympic medal winner, mother … a woman is able to step into the possible outcomes of her life, exploring the best and the worst that could happen. Places are limited. Participants will require remote access to Zoom to take part. Creative Writing on-line course
Online Event at 11am

A series of creative writing workshops will begin on Tuesday 12th January via Zoom from 11am – 1pm for 6 weeks with facilitator Breda Shannon. Suitable for beginners and those who have some writing experience, the classes will help you recognise the unique experiences of your own life and unleash your inner-writer creativity on these experiences to write memoir, fiction or auto-fiction. Irish Sign Language (I.S.L.) taster class. A Healthy Ireland at Your Library Event.

Join ISL teacher, Adrian Rynne, together with interpreter Ide Barrett for an hour long taster workshop in Sign Language for people aged 18+. Topics covered will include the benefits of learning Sign Language, communication through sign and a taste of Sign Language in simple terms. Feeding Garden Birds An Illustrated Talk by Jamie Durrant NPWS Conservation Ranger
Online Zoom event at 7pm

Jamie has many years of experience working for wild birds with BirdWatch Ireland and now as a ranger for National Parks and Wildlife Service. He will give lots of tips on what and how to feed the wild birds in your garden. He also has lots of fun and interesting facts and stories about birds. Get your garden bird questions ready and he will be happy to answer them at the end of the presentation. Suitable for all the family. Concert for Nursing Homes. A Healthy Ireland at Your Library Event.

A partnership between the HSE, Clare Library & Healthy Ireland will deliver an hour long concert to Nursing Homes throughout Co. Clare, with singer Patrick Roche. The residents and staff are eagerly awaiting the concert and will be compiling a list of their favourite songs that Patrick will sing for them during the concert. Learn to communicate with your baby before they can talk.

‘Clever Little Handies’ is a baby sign class, by instructor Claire Glynn, for parents with babies from new born and upwards. We already know babies can communicate with their hands before they can talk; they can wave; they can clap; they can point. They have the dexterity in their hands to formulate signs long before they have the muscle dexterity in their mouths to form words. This 4 week workshop is brought to you via zoom and will contain nursery rhymes, songs and poems with ISL signs that pertain to the day to day life with a baby (approximately 100 signs over the 4 weeks).
