Clare LocAl Studies Project (CLASP) was set up by
four staff members of Clare County Library*
to develop awareness of and increase access
to sources for local studies in county Clare
.

A successful application to FÁS, the Training Authority,
outlining the objectives of CLASP was lodged in early 1995, and
work commenced on a Community Response Project in May 1995.
This project ran successfully until January 2006,
when it was terminated by FÁS as part of
a national re-structuring of FÁS activities.
