John Holohan Collection of Auctioneer's Posters

John Holohan Photo
John Holohan

John Holohan, 1870-1941, was a Feakle auctioneer and building contractor. He variously served for twenty years as Clerk of the Scariff Poor Law Union, Chairman of the Scariff Rural District Council and Secretary of the East Clare District Hospital.

This collection of auctioneer’s posters covers the half-century from 1895 to 1945 and covers the sale of all forms of property in east Clare, and especially in the Feakle and Scariff areas.

Clare County Library is grateful to the Holohan family for donating the Holohan papers to Clare County Library.
