Hugh Leonard - A Wild People
Methuen

Set in Dublin in the world of movers and shakers, The Wild People charts film buff T.J. Quill’s affair with the infuriating and enigmatic Josie.
I enjoyed this novel so much, devouring it in one sitting, that it was hard to stand back and analyse just why. It was hugely funny, the writing was effortless, and the dialogue brilliantly realised, but it was probably the sensitive characterisation that made it so appealing.
This is a beautifully constructed novel, which gives pleasure from start to finish. An utter joy of a novel, and one I will return to again and again.
