Me and You by Anthony Browne

This stunning picture book by Children’s Laureate Anthony Browne is undoubtedly one of the best. The amazingly clever illustrations tell two stories simultaneously that link at the end in a way that will delight and intrigue young children.

Without giving too much away the story involves a certain bear family who take a stroll in the forest while their porridge cools and a little girl who loses her way in the streets of town and ends up at a house in the woods.

Told mainly through the illustrations from a totally original perspective this story will charm its way into the hearts of children up to 5 or 6 and their parents too. As with all his picture books there is virtually no need for words. Anthony Browne is a master of telling stories through pictures with supplementary words proving to be almost unnecessary.
