The Great Rabbit Revenge Plan by Burkhard Spinnen

Translated by Siobhan Parkinson

Published by Little Island, 2010

We don’t usually think of ten-year-olds when we hear the words divorce or moving house but Konrad Bantelmann’s friendship with Fridz largely centres around these issues. Fridz’s father has a new girlfriend and Konrad plants the idea of seeking revenge in his friend’s mind.

How an extremely large rabbit could possibly help them in their mission is anybody’s guess.

This story, ideally suited to 10 to 12 year olds explores what can be difficult issues for children in a humourous, lighthearted way.

Little Island was born from a desire by Ireland’s Laureate na nÓg, Siobhan Parkinson to publish quality international fiction for children.

The company’s first six books were published this Spring. There are two by German authors, translated by Siobhán Parkinson; two new editions of classics of recent Irish children’s literature; and two books by totally new authors, chosen by Siobhán.

Check out the Little Island website www.littleisland.ie for great books for kids and teens.
