Iggy and Me on Holiday by Jenny Valentine

Jenny Valentine is a writer previously better known to teenage readers. Her quirky yet thought provoking novels such as Finding Violet Park or Broken Soup are excellent page turners and her new series for younger children who are confidently reading alone is just as appealing.

Iggy’s older sister Flo is the narrator of the book Iggy and Me on Holiday which has all the ingredients of a fun holiday story. With plenty of suspense to keep you interested, the book tells the story of a seaside family holiday. It includes all the typical experiences, from packing to go, to going back to school at the end of the holiday with lots of adventures and laughs in between.

The book contains eight chapters that can quite easily be read as complete stories in themselves but combine to produce a complete book which is greatly enhanced by the clever black and white line drawings of illustrator Joe Berger
