The latest offering from Chris Haughton is another delightful book in which the pictures tell the story.
While out walking, four friends spot a beautiful bird high in the treetops. They simply MUST catch it, they get ready their nets but of course, the best laid plans…….

They tip-toe, tip-toe very slowly, nets poised - "Ready one ... ready two ... ready three ... GO!" There’s huge suspense for little listeners.

At the end of the book, we find an empty net and a blissfully oblivious bird, flying away. One hilarious plan after another is foiled. The only member of the group who comes close is the littlest of the group, a quiet spectator who instinctively knows that a bit of kindness is more important than the most detailed plans.

Haughton’s latest picture book has proven a much loved favourite among children aged 2 to 3. Just as well it only contains approximately a hundred words because they will want to hear it over and over again.
