Eva’s Holiday by Judi Curtin
Published by the O’Brien Press Ltd., 2011

Could Eva’s Mum possibly be serious when she said they were going to spend five weeks in a cottage in the country? Surely not.
The cottage was a total dump in the middle of nowhere. And worst of all Eva is to spend the time there with the most annoying eight year old boy imaginable.

Instead of hanging out with her cool best friends Ella and Victoria she would become friends with Kate who looked like a boy and for some reason wanted very much to be her friend. Eva couldn’t even hang out with the cool girls on holiday because they didn’t want to be around Kate.

But strange things happen when Eva and Kate have to pull together to solve a problem, Eva finds out that there’s more to life than fashion, having the latest hairstyle or the hippest clothes. It’s quite possible that ‘weird’ girls can make the best of friends.

Eva’s Holiday is a Blue Flag book from O’Brien Press suited to readers aged 10+

Clare County Library is pleased to announce that Judi Curtin will visit Scariff, Killaloe, Newmarket on Fergus and Shannon Libraries on the 24th and 25th of October as part of the Children’s Book Festival 2011.
