Time
Stops for No Mouse by Michael Hoeye
Published by Penguin Books Ltd.
Subtitled
A Hermux Tantamoq Adventure, Time Stops for No Mouse tells
the story of Hermux, an ordinary, hard-working mouse, living in
an ordinary metropolis until his heart is stolen by Ms Linka Perflinger,
a dashing and daring adventuress.
When
Linka Perflinger walks into his watchmaker's shop, Hermux’s
life becomes anything but ordinary. Linka disappears very mysteriously
and Hermux, more than a little in love with her, sets out to find
her. Adventure and danger follow as he uncovers a quest for the
formula for eternal youth.
After
his first meeting with her, Hermux can’t wait to see her again
so when a shady-looking rat comes in demanding the watch Linka has
left to be mended, Hermux is concerned all’s not well.
He
decides to abandon his quiet ways, find her and save her and hopefully
win her heart at the same time but this mission will lead him into
a web of adventure and deceit.
This
book is a fantastic read for all ages. Chapters of 2 to 3 pages
in length make the book accessible for young readers while it has
been reviewed as an excellent read for adults also.
