Fourteen
year old Arthur Drake shelters from the rain in a dusty old antique
shop and is given a casebook by the owner, who tells him he can
keep it as it belongs to him.
This is the casebook of the Invisible Detective
and is written in the 1930s but Arthur immediately recognises the
writing as his own. The invisible detective never shows his face,
and no one knows who he is but he has solved a lot of mysteries
and crimes. Arthur and his friends, Meg, Jonny and Flinch make up
the team that is the invisible detective.
Although most of our group are avid mystery fans
and were looking forward to reading this new series of books, they
found them to be a little confusing. Most thought the storyline
was good but the changes from past to present meant a lo of re-reading
was necessary to keep up with the characters.
Some book club members said they would read another
Invisible Detective book.
