Clare
County Library organises a photography competition for children to
mark World Book Day. The theme of the competition is Get Caught Reading
and is open to young photographers from 4th, 5th and 6th classes.
First, second and third prizes are awarded for the
most original reading situation photographed. Children are asked to
come up with the most unusual, inspiring, secretive place or situation
in which they would like to Get Caught Reading or to photograph somebody
else in a similar situation. Each photograph must have a suitable
accompanying caption.
Prizes include cameras, photo albums and books and
are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners and have previously
been very kindly sponsored by Photoworld, Parnell St., Ennis, International
Education Services, Leixlip, Co. Kildare and Clare County Council.
All photographs are subsequently displayed in Clare
branch libraries.
