Thursday the 6th March 2003 has been designated as World Book Day. Clare County Library intends to highlight this day for children by providing them with an opportunity to enter two competitions. Through these competitions we aim to increase children's awareness of reading and the book selection on offer to them through the library service.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all schools who participated in last year's photography competition which was very well received when displayed in our branch libraries and to invite those who did not, to enter in 2003.

Photographs from last year's competition can be seen on the library website, www.clarelibrary.ie in the Children's Services section under the Get Caught Reading heading.

In addition we are running a book review competition this year with a prize of a €100 book token for one winner from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes.
