Free Internet Access


Clare County Library offers free Internet Access at each and every one of its 16 branch libraries throughout the county, and the Local Studies Centre as a result of a nationwide initiative by the Information Society Commission, Local Authorities and the Department of Environment and Local Government. Printing facilities are available at all branch libraries also.

Ask About Ireland Irish Times Digital Archive
provides online access free of charge for internet users within public libraries and schools in Ireland. The archive is a fully searchable exact reproduction of all editions published by the Irish Times from 1859 onwards.

Between 1829 and 1842 Ordnance Survey Ireland completed the first ever large-scale survey of an entire country. Acclaimed for their accuracy, these maps are regarded by cartographers as amongst the finest ever produced. Free access from each of our broadband sites.


JSTOR, working with Queen’s University, has developed the Ireland Collection, an online collection of over 75 journals and monographs spanning from 1780 to the present and covers topics such as music, art, history, literature, archaeology, mathematics, and biology.
