Petworth House Collection: County Clare Documents
The Local Studies Centre holds three reels of microfilm of documents from
the Petworth
House Archives containing details of the Irish and Clare holdings
of Lord Egremont of Petworth House, Sussex, England. As part of her research
at N.U.I. Galway, Teresa Shoosmith has compiled a list of the Clare material
listed in the Petworth House Archives catalogues and in the 3 reels of
microfilms of the collection held at the Local Studies Centre, Ennis.
Please note that the collection itself may only be accessed through and at the West Sussex County Records Office, Chichester. Researchers should notify the archivists well in advance of their visit, and should cross-check these listing numbers with the original catalogues before requesting documents.

A further three reels of microfilm were acquired by the Local Studies Centre in 2022 and Reels 4, 5 and 6 were indexed by Local Studies staff in July 2022.
