Parkinson’s awareness talk: Kilrush Library
In Branch event at 2.30pm
To mark Parkinson’s Awareness Week, Kilrush Library are hosting a talk
by Nicola Thompson, Parkinson’s Nurse Specialist. Nicola has a wide experience
and knowledge of the condition, which she is delighted to share with people
either living with Parkinson’s or their carers, family members and friends.
This talk will be followed by a Q+A. There is also an open invitation for a
patient to come and tell their story on the day. Tea and coffee will be served.

Join yoga teacher Trish Cleary for a taster chair yoga class in Killaloe Public
Library. Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can be done sitting on a
chair or standing on the ground, while using the chair for support and can
keep the body supple and healthy, reduce stress and improve mental health.

Poetry Ireland Day – Scariff Community College
Book Launch.

Poetry
Day Ireland takes place on Thursday 28th and this year’s
theme is ‘Written in the Stars’.Scariff
Community College Transition Year Students will host the launch
of their recent publication ‘Dear Reader: A Collection
of Letters from People in Our Community on their Favourite Books
and Poems’ in Scariff Library on Thursday 28th April. The
students have writte to people in their community, asking them
to write back sharing reflections on their favourite books and
poems. The result is a beautiful collection of letters and reading
recommendations. Contributors to the book will read an extract
from their choices at the launch. This is a free event and all
